ChatGPT MCP Markdown Sharing

Connect mkdshare to ChatGPT as a custom connector. Publish documents, share links, and read inline comments without leaving the conversation.

How ChatGPT connects to mkdshare

ChatGPT supports remote MCP servers through custom connectors. Point it at https://mkdshare.dev/mcp and sign in with Google when prompted — mkdshare supports OAuth, so no manual token handling is required.

Step 1 — Enable connectors

In ChatGPT, open Settings → Connectors. Custom connectors require developer mode (Settings → Connectors → Advanced → Developer mode) on plans that support it.

Step 2 — Add the mkdshare connector

Choose Create (or Add custom connector) and fill in:

Name:           mkdshare
MCP server URL: https://mkdshare.dev/mcp
Authentication: OAuth

ChatGPT opens a Google sign-in window the first time the connector is used. Sign in with the account you use on mkdshare.dev.

Step 3 — Verify the connection

Start a conversation, enable the mkdshare connector, and ask:

Use mkdshare to list my documents.

Example workflows

Turn this conversation into a markdown summary and publish it on mkdshare. Return the link.

Publish these meeting notes on mkdshare, restricted to @mycompany.com.

Read mkdshare document abc123 and summarize the inline comments reviewers left.

Create a markdown checklist from this plan and publish it on mkdshare with a 7-day expiry.

Troubleshooting

Connector option not visible

Custom MCP connectors are not available on every ChatGPT plan. Check that developer mode is enabled under Settings → Connectors → Advanced.

Sign-in loop or 401

Remove the connector and add it again to restart the OAuth flow. Make sure the URL is exactly https://mkdshare.dev/mcp with no trailing slash.
